The Eunice M. Morris-Lister Scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors and/or college freshmen. Scholarships are offered to students from families headed by a single mother or father and who exhibit the ability and capacity to lead and serve, as well as show their commitment to making a significant impact in their schools and communities.

With the inaugural class of 2018, the Foundation will provide one (1) deserving Scholar with a three-hundred ($300.00) dollar scholarship for their educational support. The application for this program closed on March 30, 2018, and all applicants have been notified of their status via email or in person. The application will reopen on January 1, 2019, for students who will be high school seniors at that time.

 Eligibility Requirements

Applicants Must Be:

• Current high school or home-schooled senior; or first year college freshman, planning to and/or currently attending St. Phillip College.

• Planning to pursue a degree from St. Phillips College.

• Permanent resident of the Eastside of San Antonio, Texas.

• Anticipating completion of High School diploma at the time of application.

Applicants May Not Be:

• Children or grandchildren of employees, officers, founders or co-founders of Covenant Christian Children Homes of Texas, New Covenant Family Church, Morris Global Holdings, Advanced Community Training Services, their ministry divisions or any of their company subsidiaries.

• International Students (with the exception of students at DoD schools).

• College Graduates

• Temporary Residents

• Students residing outside of declared community boundaries of the Eastside of San Antonio, Texas

Meet the recipient of the Inaugural “Eunice Mae Morris-Lister” Scholarship

What does it mean to be a Eunice Mae Morris-Lister Scholar? Meet 2018 recipient Langston Williams at right. From science to healthcare studies, Langston enlightens his peers and professors with his willingness to go the extra mile, in order to achieve his dreams.

Langston is the son of Mr. Kenneth Williams and Suzel Williams. Langston graduated from Sam Houston High School on the Eastside of San Antonio, Texas and is currently attending St. Phillips College, where he is a sophomore and is majoring in science and pre-nursing. Langston is studying right now to become a Registered Nurse. His goals are to become a registered Nurse and too serve the sick, poor and needy around him.
